About Us HOMEWARD BOUND Pet Crematory Quality care for your pets…as if they were our own.
HOMEWARD BOUND was founded in 1995 in order to provide an ethical and respectful choice for pet aftercare in the Pikes Peak region. Co-founders and current owners, Bruce Cottrell, DVM and Skye M. Stevens, husband/wife team, had owned and operated a veterinary hospital and boarding kennel in the area for 18 years. And because there was no pet cremation service in Colorado Springs, pets were either placed in a local landfill or sent to a cremation service in Denver or Pueblo. To most pet owners, the landfill was an unacceptable alternative, and there were periodic problems with the cremation services from out of town, in addition to the inconvenience. Having been life long pet owners themselves, "Doc" and Skye understand the sorrow of losing a pet. They know the importance of each pet in the life of its owner, and wish to make a difference for each family that has lost a pet. HOMEWARD BOUND Pet Crematory was founded to provide all pets the care, dignity and respect they deserve. At HOMEWARD BOUND, we realize that any cremation business can provide the services for someone's pet. But our team of caring, animal-loving professionals believes in providing the compassion essential at this time. And that is what we have been doing for the past 14 years…offering pet owners what they most need at this time of loss…and giving pets what they deserve as they are Homeward Bound. |
